Benefits

  • Lower Deployment Costs By combining fleet and crew operations into one simple and easy to use package, the total cost of ownership to the airline is much lower, saving on operations personnel, training and maintenance and hardware

  • Lower Operational Costs By planning a combined fleet and crew solution, the airline can further lower the operating costs by considering both crew and fleet when handling disruptions.

  • Advanced Optimization Integration with advanced fleet recovery, pairing and rostering optimizers to further maximize resource usage while minimizing costs.

  • Accommodate Future Growth By utilizing world-class optimization techniques by minimizing number of crew required for a schedule

  • Planning for the future A fully scalable platform means TPAC Crew can grow as the airline does.

Highlights

  • Integrated Crew Pairing and Roster Management

    • Ability to seamlessly move from planning to operations phases

    • Rosters and pairings can be repaired on the day

    • Handling of crew leave, training, ground duty and other special assignments throughout the process

  • Integrated Pairing Generation

In addition to manual creation and editing of crew pairings, TPAC Crew integrates with the optional TPAC Pairing Optimizer component to provide optimized crew pairings (also known as COPs or patterns) for a given problem. TPAC Pairing Optimizer is capable of producing lowest-cost pairings with respect to rule-defined objectives that respect all relevant legality constraints.

  • Integrated Roster Optimization

In addition to manual creation and editing of crew rosters, TPAC Crew integrates with the optional TPAC Rostering Optimizer component to provide optimized crew rosters. TPAC Rostering Optimizer produces a set of crew rosters that will ensure the airline is crewed optimally according to factors such as fairness, crew availability, crew preferences and legality rules. By automating this process the airline can plan rosters close to the flight day ensuring a minimum cost.

Technical Overview

Architecture

TPAC Crew is a tiered architecture, with separate layers client, server and database functionality. The client applications, providing the application GUI, runs on individual PCs or workstations. The server and database run on one or more servers, and support server redundancy and automatic failover. This provides extremely high up-time even in the event of hardware failure.

  • Oracle database connectivity

  • J2EE Security

  • UNIX/Linux back end for stability, availability and performance

  • Multi-tier client-server for performance and scalability
