CTI and its partners deliver complete optimisation solutions. Customers who invest in solutions get the benefits of tailoring to their specific needs and a single point of responsibility.

CTI solutions are built using standard CTI products, with additional tailoring and configuration for specific industry needs. By using standard products, maximum leverage is obtained from software development allowing faster evolution and higher quality & reliability.

All solutions are completely integrated. CTI also provides the systems integration skills to implement a part solution where one or more functions is already being provided by existing systems whether they be in-house or third party. CTI can also completely replace existing systems, if there is a business case.

Industry solutions provide the ability to plan the complete operation over a number of different timescales. This includes years/months in advance through on-the-day and disruption management to after the event recording and diagnostics.

CTI tailors solutions for Airlines, Rail and Road haulage. Many applications are generic and applicable to all industries. Others are applicable to only one or two.

Typical applications include:

  • Schedules planning (for scheduled activities/timetable generation)
  • Demand planning (for ad-hoc or short notice requirements)
  • Operations control
  • Recovery optimisation (to return to schedule following disruption)
  • Dynamic scheduling (to manage incoming/changing demands)
  • Crew pairing
  • Crew rostering
  • Fleet maintenance
  • Performance monitoring and KPI calculation

CTI typically works with solution partners and/or system integrators who provide further elements to complete the picture, such as HR, ERP or Financial Systems. They also provide a single point of contact for the customer and integrated first line support.

Solution Architecture

All CTI products are based on a 3-layer architecture.

Data is obtained from databases (including standard databases - such as Oracle - and customer installed systems) and transparently cached for performance and reliability reasons. This data layer can run on multiple redundant or fault tolerant systems for maximum reliability and availability.

The application layer consists of the software products. These are configured to suit and customized using Common Rules. Configuration represents the resources and assets (aircraft, locomotives, trucks, people, depots, hubs, etc). The business processes and operating procedures are captured in Common Rules.

The users interact with a common GUI that supports both use and maintenance of the system.
